• 160km road race
• Men only
• Open to senior riders only. Junior under 17yrs are not eligible to enter
• Start/Finish on Tongariro Street, Taupo, mass start
• Entrants must have a national racing licence, 2011 green or white 2012 - overseas riders must obtain an international licence from their country's Cycling Association.
• You must have a Cycle Challenge best time of 4:15 or less
• Race managed & marshalled by BikeNZ officials
• Official wheel wagon is provided
• Outside support permitted at the top of Kuratau, Waihi & Hatepe Hills
• Photo finish with backup transponder timing
• Entries will be vetted by the Classic Race Manager and a Bike NZ official
• Field limited to the first 100 accepted entries, plus 20 entries at the Classic Race Manager’s discretion
• -$15000 Prize Money
- $5000 1st place
-First 20 placings
- Under 23 division winner
-Over 34 division winner
• Podium presentation 1pm, Tongariro Street
NOTE: Any rider failing the automatic qualifying criteria is invited to submit any relevant performance details to doug@cyclechallenge.com. Acceptance will be determined by the event organisers and Bike NZ and their decision shall be final.
