UCI Golden Bike Series
The Contact Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge is proud to be part of the prestigious UCI Golden Bike Series, confirming its place among the best cycling events in the world.
In 2010, six events in six countries have been chosen to give you the opportunity to discover the best cycling events in the world.
The criteria include maximum safety on the road combined with quality in all aspects of event organization as well as the presence of tourist activities close to the event venue. Special consideration is also given to the suitability of the host town and the impact of the event on the local environment. The Contact Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge is the only event outside of Europe to be included in the Golden Bike Series.

Tri-Nations
The event organisers of the biggest mass participation rides in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa have joined forces to create the Tri Nations Event.

The Cape Argus Pick 'n' Pay Cycle Tour is an extraordinary event. The 109 km route is completely closed to traffic. The circuit first of all uses 25 kilometres of motorway, before running along the Atlantic Ocean towards the Cape of Good Hope then coming back to the centre of Cape Town along some of the most spectacular scenery the world has to offer. Riding together with more than 35,000 participants is a really unique experience that one must experience to truly appreciate it. The next event will be held on the 13th March 2011.

Around the Bay in a Day® is Australia's premiere mass participation bike ride. Leading into its seventeenth year, the event is experiencing significant growth, with over 16,300 riders participating in 2008. Last year these riders raised over $400,000 for the official charity partner, The Smith Family. The event offers a choice of five ride distances: 50km, 80km (School Challenge), 100km, 210km and 250km. With the exception of the 100km ride, which starts in Sorrento, all rides start and finish at the same location - Alexandra Gardens in the heart of the city of Melbourne. The next event will be held on 16th October 2011.

Verenti Dragon Ride
The Dragon Ride cyclosportive is a circular, 120 or 180km non competitive road cycle challenge ride over the beautiful hills and valleys of South Wales. With 2800m of climbing, the route takes in the classic Milk Race/Tour of Britain climbs of the Bwlch, Rhigos and Brecon Beacons mountain roads. The Dragon Ride was one of the first annual cyclosportives to be held in the UK and the first to gain a place on the UCI calendar. The ride is based at Pencoed, just outside Cardiff and has excellent road, rail and international air links.
The next Dragon Ride will take place on Sunday 5th June 2011.

Coffs Coast Cycle Challenge
Organised by the Rotary Club of Coffs Harbour City The 2011 Coffs Coast Cycle Challenge held on the 7th August, will have more than seven different categories to enter suiting all cyclists over the age of 14 years. There is a category for every level of rider - a challenging 100 kilometre ride for individual riders, or teams. |

Wilson HTM Brisbane to Gold Coast Cycle Challenge
Pop over the ditch for some cycling - the Wilson HTM Brisbane to the Gold Coast Cycle Challenge is a flat 100k ride between Queensland's biggest cities. The busway is closed for this event so it’s a traffic free route out of Brisbane on your way to the surf in Queensland's biggest bike ride with 8,000 riders.

Honolulu Century Ride
The Honolulu Century Ride is Hawaii's largest and oldest cycling event, attracting as many as 4,000 participants from 8 nations. The event takes place on 10 April 2011. The ride begins and ends just west of Diamond Head Crater at the end of Waikiki, and takes riders along the Eastern and Windward Shores past many of the most beautiful areas in Hawai’i.
