Travel to Taupo
| Travel to Great Lake Taupo is easy – Air New Zealand has direct flights from Sydney to Rotorua on Tuesday and Saturday. Taupo is an easy 50 minute drive from Rotorua, and is centrally located in the middle of the North Island. It is an hour’s drive to Waitomo Caves, the Hawkes Bay wine region, and Mt Ruapehu. Most major international airlines fly direct into Auckland and Wellington, both of which are within 4 hours drive of Taupo. There are also daily connecting flights between Auckland and Wellington and Taupo. |
