Shimano NZ Delivers Ultimate Bike Build
Shimano New Zealand is proud to support the cycling community by delivering the ultimate bike build to David, the lucky winner of the Shimano prize at the 2025 Lake Taupō Cycle Challenge.
The Shimano team caught up with David, one of a few riders who travelled from Australia to participate in the 2025 Lake Taupō Cycle Challenge, to hand over the finished bike, and it didn’t disappoint. An outstanding frame choice paired with the precision of DURA-ACE, every detail dialled, every component purpose-built.
Getting the bike to Australia presented a few challenges, with Air NZ coming to the party to transport the precious cargo. David was presented with his brand new, custom built bike at Shimano Australia. Even the Shimano Aussie crew were impressed, and they know a thing or two about a world-class setup!
The Lake Taupō Cycle Challenge is New Zealand’s premier road cycling event, drawing thousands of participants each year. Shimano NZ is dedicated to nurturing the growth of this landmark event and the wider cycling community, contributing to healthier, happier lives across the country.
“At Shimano, we are committed to supporting events like the Lake Taupō Cycle Challenge and ensuring that more New Zealanders experience the joy of cycling,” said Taylor Gunman, Shimano NZ’s National Sales Manager and former professional cyclist.
Looking ahead to the next event, Taylor added, “We’re excited to welcome more riders in 2026, as the opportunity to win this amazing prize is truly within reach.”
