Prostate Cancer Foundation NZ - Breaking barriers, saving lives
Prostate Cancer Foundation NZ (PCFNZ) exists to ensure no one has to face prostate cancer alone—and that every person can navigate their journey with knowledge, confidence and dignity.
Every week, 84 Kiwi men hear the words no one is ever prepared for: “you have prostate cancer”. Behind every diagnosis is a person, a partner, a family, a future suddenly filled with uncertainty.
With your support, PCFNZ is there to walk alongside them. Providing trusted information, practical support , and connection with others who understand the journey.
Across Aotearoa New Zealand, PCFNZ’s wrap-around services help people manage treatment side effects, rebuild strength, and feel supported every step of the way.
None of this is government funded. Every call answered, every counselling session delivered, and every support programme offered is only possible because people choose to give.
Your donation helps provide:
a nurse-led freephone information service
24/7 counselling
peer support networks
patient grants
tailored exercise programmes like Prost-FIT
home-based support through the Prostate Cancer Patient Empowerment Programme
Doug and Margaret know first-hand how that support matters. After Doug was diagnosed, PCFNZ connected him with others who truly understood what he was going through. That support meant he didn’t have to face it alone – and neither did Margaret.
“It was like being smacked between the eyes… you don’t expect it. One moment everything is normal, the next you’re told you have cancer. When life is suddenly thrown off course, support like this can change what happens next. It gives people somewhere to turn and helps make the road ahead more manageable.”
Today, Doug and Margaret support others through PCFNZ’s Rodney (Auckland) support group, helping people navigate some of life’s toughest moments. This support is only possible because people like you choose to give.
Every kilometre you ride — and every dollar you give — helps ensure no one faces prostate cancer alone.
Support PCFNZ today and help provide care, connection and hope when it’s needed most.
