Meet our 2025 Ambassadors
We’re stoked to introduce four incredible riders who’ll be taking part in this year’s event and inspiring others along the way.
Bryony Botha - riding Shimano Round the Lake.
Bryony is an Olympian and national track cycling champion who’s recently shifted her focus to the road. After years of building toward the 2024 Olympics, she’s now racing across the U.S. with the Fearless Femme team.

Nick Blincoe - riding Shimano Round the Lake
Nick grew up in competitive sport, representing New Zealand in school rugby and playing in the 2004 U19 World Cup team. A rugby injury in 2010 changed the course of his life, but it led him to Para cycling, a sport where he’s since competed at multiple World Championships. After clocking a personal best of 4:28:50 in last year’s Shimano Round the Lake, Nick is back once again, encouraging others to push through their own challenges.

Libby O’Brien - riding Tineli Huka Hundy
Taupō local Libby currently lives life between Whakapapa Village in Tongariro National Park and Taupō, making the most of every opportunity to get on two wheels. An avid e-bike rider, Libby loves the thrill of racing, the joy of fast rides, and the freedom that it brings. She took on the Tineli Huka Hundy last year and loved it so much she’s back for another round in 2025.

Jon Bridges - riding Shimano Round the Lake
Long-time cycling enthusiast, author, journalist, commentator, and MC, and a big supporter of the Lake Taupō Cycle Challenge. Jon loves the freedom of riding, staying fit, the challenge of competition, and being part of both the big and small cycling communities. We’re stoked to have him on board for the event this year!
Ian Jones
A former All Black and passionate endurance athlete, Ian sees riding as a key part of his training and overall wellbeing. For him, it’s as much about connection as it is about performance - he loves the social side of cycling and the opportunity it gives him to explore the country.
