This month we’re showcasing the best of Mountain Biking with our three MTB category options on offer, the BDO Huka Challenge, BDO Huka Steamer and BDO Huka Teaser.

We’re excited to announce that both the BDO Huka Challenge and BDO Huka Steamer mountain bike events are now included as part of the NZ MTB Crown Series.

Be a part of history with the inaugural Length of the Lake road event starting in Tūrangi and taking in the most scenic stretch of the lake through to Taupō.

While Taupō’s town-centre is going through an exciting upgrade, we’ve secured a great new spot for our event village and start and finish lines.

With the continued Covid 19 environment, and with the recent announcement that New Zealand is now in a Red Traffic Light as part of the Covid-19 Protection Framework, the team at BDO Lake Taupō Cycle Challenge have made the tough decision to cancel its planned 19 February 2022 event.

With 5 weeks to go until the planned date for New Zealand’s largest cycling event, (traditionally held on the last Saturday in November), and after much deliberation and consultation with riders, stakeholders, event partners and others, we have made the decision to postpone this year’s BDO Lake Taupō Cycle Challenge and move the 44th running of the event to its reserve date of 19 February 2022.
